Das Musical spielt in den 1950er Jahren und ist ein fiktives Werk, das vom Leben dreier außergewöhnlicher und erfolgreicher Menschen inspiriert ist – dem Schriftsteller Aldous Huxley (Harry Hadden-Paton), Dramatikerin, Diplomatin und Kongressabgeordneten Clare Boothe Luce (Carmen Cusack) sowie Filmlegende Cary Grant (Tony Yazbeck). An einem Scheideweg in ihrem Leben kommen die drei zusammen und unternehmen unter dem Einfluss von LSD eine Reise und stellen sich den Geheimnissen ihres Lebens und ihrer Welt.
