Label-Information: THE IRVING BERLIN RAGTIME REVUE is a lively celebration of the most successful songwriter in history, Irving Berlin (1888-1989). It focuses on the early years of his career, when he was known as “the King of Ragtime.” In his long life, Berlin created about 1500 songs. He wrote more hits–and made more money–than any of his so-called rivals. He wrote the scores for 19 Broadway shows and 18 Hollywood musicals. And this album features the vibrant, critically acclaimed original New York cast.

Created by one of the world’s foremost experts on Berlin’s music–ASCAP award-winning writer/director Chip Deffaa - THE IRVING BERLIN RAGTIME REVUE presents some 40 spirited musical numbers, plus commentary, from the first dozen or so years of Berlin’s career–the songs that first put him on the map. There are famed Berlin numbers that most everyone knows--along with wondrous rarities and rediscoveries. All abound with life. There are some songs that have not been heard or recorded in a hundred years. And some that may never have been recorded before! The album--being released exclusively in the United States now--is a must for all who love the Great American Songbook.

"THE IRVING BERLIN RAGTIME REVUE" is one of five different shows celebrating the life and legacy of Irving Berlin that have been created by award-winning writer/director Chip Deffaa. All are available for licensing.
